Professional Qualification Program for Bus Drivers

Fifty passengers behind the driver's seat. The program that prepares you to pass the professional competency exam — the first step toward the professional driver card.

  • Duration per the TGA-approved package
  • Arabic · English · Urdu
  • Max 25 trainees per class
  • Accredited completion certificate

What is the bus driver qualification program?

A bus driver doesn't move cargo — they move people. A cargo mistake costs money; a passenger mistake costs lives, and fifty passengers behind the driver means fifty simultaneous responsibilities.

A TGA-accredited program covering specialised transport, educational transport, and inter/intra-city services — combining the governing regulations with passenger safety, safe driving, and fatigue management.

The most sensitive layer is educational transport: a driver carrying children, and parents handing over their kids daily on a single trust — that the driver is qualified.

The certification path — three bodies, three steps

1

Training course — at POTC

Completing the course at an accredited training centre is the entry requirement for the exam. Output: a course-completion certificate.

2

Professional competency exam — at an independent test centre

Pass mark 60% or higher. Output: the professional competency certificate (valid 5 years).

3

Professional driver card — from the Transport General Authority

Issued by TGA after passing the exam; renewal is tied to a valid competency certificate.

The competency certificate is valid for 5 years; regulation requires a refresher course at an accredited training centre at least 60 days before expiry — otherwise the professional driver card cannot be renewed.

Regulation prohibits combining training and testing. POTC is an accredited training centre; it does not run the competency exam nor issue its certificate.
